While in London you have to make sure you visit the Shakespeare Theatre in London. Even if you are not big on plays it is still a marvelous theatre and quite the experience. This theater is a close to exact replica of the original Shakespeare Theatre. The theatre is made so that no matter where you are you have a good seat and the actors do not need to project their voices in order for the audience members to hear them.
2. Abbey road
Abbey Road is a great place to visit even if you are not a Beatles fan. It is always fun to have a friend or bystander to take a picture of you running across the zebra crosswalk. Everyone could enjoy walking across the street knowing that the Beatles have stood there before them. Making parodies of the famous 1969 "Abbey Road" album cover has become very popular and is fun to do yourself. When I did this I took four different pictures of me in different places dressed as the different Beatles. Abbey Road is right in London so if you just want to visit the historical street then it is not to far from most of the action in England.
3. Hadrian's wall
![Picture](/uploads/2/6/8/3/26832516/8290798.jpg)
Hadrian's wall is an old wall that the Britons built to put a dividing line between them and the invading Romans. Besides the history of the wall, it is an amazing piece of architecture considering that it is still mostly in tact. The wall began being built in 122! This stop is far away from most other popular destinations in Europe but is definitely worth the long trip to it and the time taken off of doing other things.
4. PARLIAMENT/London clock tower
![Picture](/uploads/2/6/8/3/26832516/2069754.jpg)
Parliament and the London Clock Tower share one spot on this list because they are just one building. Parliament is famous for what the English government's congress works at. This is where laws are made and where British laws have been made for a very long time. The London Clock Tower is a very famous structure in England and is one of the most recognizable symbols of England. These are both in the heart of England in London near many other attractions.
5. St. MICHAELS Mount
England is known for its historic castles and this is one of the coolest ones you can find in England. This castle is situated in the lovely waters of Berkshire. To get to the castle on the island you must take a boat or walk along a narrow man made rock path with water on both sides of you. This castle is very old and beautiful and a popular tourist destination. The land around the castle is also very cool and it would be a lovely place to have a picnic lunch.
6. ANfield
![Picture](/uploads/2/6/8/3/26832516/3672847.jpg)
This destination is really only good for you if you are a soccer fan. Anfield is a ginormous modern soccer field in Liverpool. Soccer is a very big part of English culture and although it is not the national sport, it is probably the most popular and has the biggest fan base. If you do find yourself in Liverpool then I do suggest visiting this soccer field over any other in the country because this is a very modern and very famous building.
7. Double-decker bus tour
![Picture](/uploads/2/6/8/3/26832516/4696287.jpg)
It is always a good idea to take a tour of a foreign major city you visit while on vacation. Whether it gives you activity, food, or shopping ideas you will always pick something up from the experience. So if you decide to go on a tour in London why not go on a double-decker bus. These are very common in London and a great way to hold more people for tours or commercial travel. Riding a double-decker is not very common here in America so it will be a new experience and hopefully one that you always remember.
8. Thames river and london eye
![Picture](/uploads/2/6/8/3/26832516/1399006.jpg)
Although these two things are not connected, they are right next to each other and not major activities that take a long time. The Thames river is one of the largest rivers in the world and right next to it is the huge London Eye. The London Eye is the name of the Ferris Wheel in London. The Thames is beautiful during the day. It is fun to watch everything go on around it. At night the London Eye lights up which creates a cool effect on the river below it.
9. Buckingham Palace
![Picture](/uploads/2/6/8/3/26832516/2157974.jpg)
The most famous castle in England is Buckingham Palace. This is in London and is where the Queen Mum lives along with most of the royal family. The palace is known for its ornate interior design and its old style exterior architecture. The building is open for tours but do not wander off or else you will end up in jail. Guarding the palace are the Queen's guards. They are all over the building and legend has it that they can not be distracted.
10. Camelot
![Picture](/uploads/2/6/8/3/26832516/1845986.jpg)
Camelot is known for its relevance with King Arthur and the history of the special ancient structure. This had to make the top ten list because of all of the mysticism surrounding the castle. Some day the Holy Grail is hidden there. For those that believe in King Arthur's ruler ship over England long ago, then believe that many magical things happened there. The castle is quite magnificent on its own and is own very wonderful land. The castle is one of the older ones that made this list and by far the most complex.
